Meet T4Autism:

Meet Team Thomas!

Affectionately known as “Cubby,” Thomas loves exploring nature with his friends and family, spending time in the water, music, bathtime, Dora the Explorer, and simply enjoying life. Thomas is 19, nonverbal, 6’4, and 142 pounds.

As his mother, I have provided for Thomas and myself by teaching Middle School Science for 15 years. I currently have a logistics company delivering goods and merchandise to small businesses, and I also work as a real estate investor.

I was a single Mom from 2017 until 2024.

Raising and caring for Thomas has had its challenges and can be extremely overwhelming at times. Without the unconditional support of God, my brothers, and our mother, I’m not sure we would have made it all those years.

Covid was unbearable for many; you can only imagine the challenges we faced during that isolating time. It was just the two of us. Being a single parent during the shutdown was a roller coaster!

I felt alone and overwhelmed. But God walked with Cubby and I every step of the way and we are safely on the other side of that traumatic time and I’m forever grateful for that.

This journey has launched my family and I into service. We want to help answer the call and provide immediate resources to this underserved community.

I have personally been fortunate enough to be able to give over $15,000 of my own money to help those in my community with special needs.

It is my pleasure to be an advocate for autism and have invested not just finances to our local community but also by helping the launch of our MomStrong support group which has grown from eleven members to over 500 Mommas!

I have educated over 7,500 students in FWISD about profound autism.

I was honored to share Thomas’s experience on WFAA Channel 8 News about profound autism and the need for updated laws, the lack of services, and the Texas HCS agency which has a wait list that’s over 10 years.

For five years I volunteered with the Fort Worth Junior League focusing on Habitat for Humanity, Meals on Wheels, the Van Cliburn Competition, and the Fort Worth Stock Show.

Cubby and I also helped start the conversation at the Fort Worth Zoo to increase services for families that have a member with autism and they responded with sensory day and updated staff training to assist special needs families when they visit the zoo.

Our local community grocery stores such as Central Market, Walmart, and Target responded quickly when I asked for the Caroline’s Cart, an essential safe option for adults with special
needs to accompany their loved ones and caregivers while shopping for groceries.

Lastly, my family and I have supported Boulevard Heights Public School for the last 10 years by donating gifts and food to the Teachers and staff who serve Thomas and hundreds of others who have intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Our family has transitioned from having a toddler, preschooler, school age and now an ADULT who will need lifetime love, care, and support for the rest of his life and we are the ones who are blessed to be called to serve these Angels on Earth.

We look forward to taking T4Autism to another level by providing educational resources, housing, therapy and so much more for our children and adults, helping this special group rise
to a better life.

With your help and attention to this calling, we can meet the needs of our community.

Thank you again for visiting T4Autism today and we wish you well on your journey of life!

Warmly,
T4Autism
